It has been a long time since I last posted. Not a lot has changed around here. I have been making a lot of soaps and now the fiber is starting to take over the studio. There has been a lot of talk aroiund here about maybe moving to Fl. to be close to one of my sons.. and the weather would be a whole lot warmer. I am still looking for a couple of shetlands, ewes or weathers, and I also am looking for a few angora does. Now to just get through this winter and be ready to start all anew…

Hi All, I am a beginner Sheltand sheep owner and spinner. I have fallen in love with the sweet nature of this breed. I have many questions that are answered by reading this forum but one of my biggest concerns at this time is how do I keep vegetation out of the fleeces of my sheep? They get lots of hay in them, as well as grass and droppings. I have heard both sides of putting coats on them but wonder what others have found to help or what opinions are out there. Any ideas are welcome.
